  • Our gift certificates entitle the holder to a predetermined number of hours of research at no additional charge to the certificate holder.

  • Certificates have no cash value, cannot be traded or refunded, and only entitle the holder to the number of hours of research defined on the face of the certificate.

  • Certificates can be redeemed at any time prior to the expiration date, which is clearly indicated on the face of each certificate, and is at least one-year from the date of issue.

  • Work may extend beyond the certificate expiration date as long as work was arranged prior to expiration and a Client Services Agreement was in place before the gift certificate’s expiration.

  • The certificate holder must review, complete, and sign a Client Services Agreement prior to the commencement of work. Only then will the certificate be considered “redeemed.”

  • The completion of work after the redemption of a gift certificate is subject to the researcher’s availability. Scheduling will be communicated to and arranged with the person redeeming the gift certificate.

  • Certificates must be redeemed in a single transaction and cannot be split between multiple jobs.

  • Instructions on how to redeem a gift certificate are issued at the time the certificate is mailed. To redeem a gift certificate, can visit WeDigGenealogy.com and click on the “envelope/email icon” or use one of the multiple “get in touch” options on the site. Or they can reach out by phone or email, to receive direct assistance with the process. We know some gift recipients may be more “Old School” and not as tech savvy. That’s ok, because we’re here to help!

  • Gift certificates are sent via email to the purchaser, who is then responsible for delivering the certificate to the gift recipient.

  • Each certificate is personalized, with the number of hours purchased, the name of the gift recipient, the name of the purchaser, and a unique certificate number that allows the recipient and We Dig Genealogy to arrange the certificate redemption.

  • Because gift certificates are personalized, they are not delivered immediately after purchase, but you will receive a receipt confirming your purchase. Gift certificates are typically emailed within 48 hours of purchase. If you do not receive your certificate within 48 hours, please reach out via email to WeDigGenealogy@gmail.com. Sometimes life gets complicated and there may be occasional, unavoidable delays in delivery. Just notify us of any concerns and we’ll do our very best to rectify the situation!

  • Any person can buy a gift certificate for any other person. That certificate can even be used by the purchaser for their own research project. In other words, you can buy yourself a gift certificate, too! Or, if the person you give the certificate to decides they don’t want to use it and gives it back to you, you can always use the certificate for your own research project, provided it is arranged before the certificate expires.

  • The gift certificate can only be redeemed by one of the two parties named on the certificate: (1) The Certificate Holder, OR (2) the Certificate Purchaser, who is named in the “From” field on the certificate.

  • We Dig Genealogy is not responsible if a gift certificate is lost, stolen, destroyed, or used without permission. The purchaser and gift recipient should therefore take measures to keep the certificate safe and secure.
